Rohu fish are typically 1.8 to 2 KG in size. The fish is delivered to you after dressing which includes cutting, cleaning, washing and packing for ready use (আঁশ ছাড়ানো, কাটা মাছ দেওয়া হয়).
Each 1 KG pack includes Half Head, one tail and the remaining body Pieces.
Rohu is rich in proteins and low in fat. It also contains plenty of minerals such as zinc, iron calcium etc. Rohu is a delicacy in the whole of India and is referred to as IMC or Indian Major Carp. Rahu is especially popular in Eastern Indian states such as Odisha, Bengal, Assam and others. Rahu cooked in master oil is a staple diet of Bengali cuisine. It grows in the rivers of peninsular India although it is also a popular fish produced through aquaculture.

The net weight of the fish is 20 to 25% less than its gross weight, in other words, every 1 KG fish you receive through us is equivalent to roughly 1200 to 1350 gram whole fish. This loss is due to the process of cleaning. The larger the fish, the loss due to cutting is more. The price quoted is for the net weight of the fish delivered to you.
